Amitabh Bachchan revealed he injured his left knee after slipping on the set of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.' The veteran actor assured fans it’s a minor injury and continues hosting the show, albeit seated during the opening. He plans to stand during gameplay segments, with treatment being managed on set.

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has revealed that he injured his left knee after slipping and falling during a recent shoot for Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.

The 83-year-old screen icon, who has been hosting the popular quiz show for over two decades, opened the latest episode seated at the game podium, rather than standing at center stage as he traditionally does for the show's opening monologue.

Addressing the studio audience, Bachchan pointed to his left knee and explained the change in routine.

"Yesterday while shooting, I slipped and fell, which hurt my left knee. Standing up feels a bit uncomfortable right now, which is why I am sitting here today," he said. The actor sought to reassure viewers, adding, "It is a minor injury and nothing to worry about. The work will continue as scheduled."

Bachchan said he planned to stand to greet and interact with contestants during the main gameplay segments, taking short rests between takes initially. He added that his treatment is being managed on set and that his professional commitments remain on track.

Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 airs on Sony Entertainment Television and streams on SonyLIV in India. The format, an Indian adaptation of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, has been anchored by Bachchan since its debut in 2000, with the exception of one season where superstar Shah Rukh Khan took charge.

Beyond television, Bachchan is set to appear in Nag Ashwin's sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, playing the immortal Mahabharata warrior Ashwatthama in the sci-fi franchise. The first film won two honors at the 72nd National Film Awards, including best popular film providing wholesome entertainment and best special effects.
