The trailer for Avaraachan & Sons introduces Biju Menon as a chaotic, deadbeat father whose vices and misdeeds have long embarrassed his grown children. The trailer for Biju Menon's upcoming family entertainer Avaraachan & Sons is out, and it hints at a good time. Starring Menon as the family patriarch Avaraachan, along with his children, played by Ganapathi S Poduval, Akhila Bhargavan and Sreenath Bhasi, the film's premise is built around Avaraachan, a deadbeat dad, and his journey tackling his relationships with his adult children.
The hilariously cut trailer begins with the kids confessing their father has never been anything more than a menace to them, never behaved the way a father should. A standout voice-over from the trailer explains, "Arrack, toddy, weed and theft. Murder is the only thing he has left."
Avaraachan's frustration with his sons, and theirs with him, forms the backbone of the trailer's humour. Another notable line has him questioning whether he has "killed it" as a father, matched with a response from Pauly Valsan's Eliyamma talking him up, telling him he has done a superb job. The trailer concludes with Avaraachan in a fight scene, pointing to a humorous and action-packed entertainer.
Avaraachan & Sons is directed by debutant director Thamby, who has co-written the film with Joseph Vijeesh. Produced by Listin Stephen under the Magic Frames banner, the film's technical crew includes composer Sanal Dev, cinematographer Sajith Purushan and Akash Joseph Varghese on editing.
The cast also features Grace Antony, Sabumon Abdusamad, Kottayam Nazeer, Sajin Cherukayil, Nisha Sarang, and Vinay Forrt, whose character is teased in the trailer as a heartsick troublemaker.
Biju Menon, whose landmark projects include Ayyappanum Koshiyum (2020) and Vellimoonga (2014), and Manorathangal (2024) among others, was seen earlier this year in Drishyam 3 and Valathu Vashathe Kallan.
Pauly Valsan, meanwhile, is starring in Chevittorma, a Malayalam-language independent feature directed by Leo Thaddeus and co-starring Dileesh Pothan, which will have its world premiere at the 31st Busan International Film Festival.
Avaraachan & Sons comes to theatres on October 2, 2026.
