'DC' Box-Office: Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi's Film Mints Over ₹30 Crores Globally

At the end of day three, Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi’s 'DC' grossed ₹11 crore in India across 4,639 shows, its highest single-day collection

Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi’s Tamil film DC has delivered a strong three-day box office performance, grossing ₹31.86 crore worldwide, with ₹24.11 crore from India and ₹7.75 crore overseas. The film’s collections rose steadily from ₹7.29 crore on Friday to its best single-day haul of ₹11 crore on Sunday, driven by high occupancy in core Tamil markets and strong multiplex sales.

Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi's DC has shown a promising box-office run over its three days in theaters.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has reached ₹31.86 crore in gross collections, including an India gross of ₹24.11 crore and overseas gross of ₹7.75 crore, and ₹20.95 crore in net collections across 11,692 shows.

'DC' Box-Office Colletion: Day Wise

On Friday, August 7, its first day in theaters, the film grossed ₹5.04 crore in India. Though it opened across 3,504 shows with moderate occupancy, DC showed promising numbers from day 1 in core Tamil regions.

In Coimbatore, the film opened with an occupancy of nearly 70 percent, while the numbers in Chennai crossed 66 per cent. By the end of day 1, the worldwide gross stood at around ₹7.29 crore, including an overseas contribution of ₹2.25 crore.

On Saturday, day 2 of its theatrical run, DC sold almost double the tickets as compared to day 1, pushing its India gross collection was to ₹8.07 crore. On day 2, it also sustained a strong performance across PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, with 15.6 thousand tickets sold across 493 shows. PVR contributed to ₹18.5 lakh, INOX to ₹5.5 lakh and Cinepolis to ₹2.6 lakh.

DC's box office performance was best on Sunday when it grossed ₹11 crore in India across 4,639 shows in its highest single-day collection. The first weekend worldwide gross collection of DC stands at ₹31.86 crore.

Apart from DC, the R. Madhavan-starrer GDN also released in theaters on Friday. On day 1, the film collected ₹0.46 crore, followed by a day 2 of ₹0.84 crore. It reached ₹1.13 crore on day 3. GDN has collected a net of ₹2.43 crore over its three days in theaters.
