Delhi Police has denied permission for Diljit Dosanjh's October 30 concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, citing security concerns during the festive season. Ticket holders await clarity on refunds or rescheduling, while organizers remain silent on next steps.
Days after Diljit Dosanjh warned fans about volunteer scams linked to his Delhi show, Delhi Police has refused to clear the Aura India Tour concert planned for October 30 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, citing security concerns, according to a letter sent to ticketing partner BookMyShow.
The letter came from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) in response to an application BookMyShow filed on October 14, 2026. As per an HT City Report, the letter mentioned, "Sir, With reference to your application dated 14.10.2026 on the subject cited above, I am to inform you that your request for organizing "Diljit Dosanjh's Aura India Tour Delhi" at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, on 30.10.2026 has been examined by this office. In view of the specific threat-related inputs, coupled with the multifarious security and law & order commitments arising out of the ongoing festive season and other important law & order concerns, the same cannot be acceded to."
The office said the application had been reviewed and turned down, as the police purportedly see threat indications and already have their hands full with law and order duties during the festive period.
The letter does not spell out what the threat involves. With the show eight days away, ticket holders in the capital have no clarity on whether the concert will be cancelled, postponed or shifted to another venue.
Dosanjh had earlier asked fans not to hand over personal data to anyone claiming to be a volunteer for the Delhi concert, flagging a scam doing the rounds ahead of the show. That advisory concerned fraud rather than security, and no link has been drawn between the two developments.
Fans who booked seats are now waiting for word from the organisers, while Delhi Police has offered no further details. HT City first reported the denial of permission.
The Delhi stop is part of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour, and tickets for the date had already gone on sale. No statement from Dosanjh’s team or BookMyShow had been issued at the time of writing. The situation remains unresolved for now.
