Aniruddh Rawal, son of Paresh Rawal and Swaroop Sampat, makes his big-screen debut as Sikandar in Vishesh Films’ Awarapan 2, led by Emraan Hashmi. After acclaimed work in Netflix’s Scoop, he brings AD experience from Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai and training under Naseeruddin Shah to a film that extends the Bhatt–Rawal creative legacy, releasing worldwide on August 14.
There is a new addition to the Awarapan universe: Aniruddh Rawal. Following his critically acclaimed performance in the Netflix series Scoop, Aniruddh is now set to make his highly anticipated big-screen debut. The actor will step into the pivotal role of Sikandar in Vishesh Films' upcoming Awarapan 2, headlined by Emraan Hashmi.
According to industry sources, Aniruddh — son of veteran actors Paresh Rawal and Swaroop Sampat — initially learned the mechanics of large-scale filmmaking behind the camera, working as an assistant director on blockbusters like Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. He then underwent extensive training under the direct mentorship of Naseeruddin Shah.
Interestingly, Aniruddh's casting adds a beautiful new chapter to a storied, 40-year history of cinematic milestones shared between the Bhatt and Rawal households.
"Their creative association began back in 1988 when Paresh Rawal starred in Kabzaa, which marked Mukesh Bhatt’s debut film as a producer under the Vishesh Films banner," an industry insider shared.
"Decades later, Aditya Rawal delivered a striking performance in Faraaz, the inaugural production of Sakshi Bhatt’s Mahana Films. Now, continuing this legacy of creative intersections entirely on his own merit, Aniruddh makes his big-screen debut in Awarapan 2, produced by Vishesh Bhatt."
Presented by Vishesh Films and Mukesh Bhatt, Awarapan 2 is directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqi. The highly anticipated sequel features an ensemble cast including Disha Patani, Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli and Atul Kumar.
Awarapan 2 is slated to hit cinemas worldwide on August 14.
