Marathi Zee 5 has unveiled an ambitious second-year slate that deepens its regional footprint with returning hit series, new scripted originals, direct-to-digital films, post-theatrical premieres, stand-up comedy, AI-assisted titles and live global sports, while reaffirming a long-term commitment to Marathi audiences seeking culturally rooted yet diverse, premium storytelling across genres and formats.

Building on a launch year that established its presence, Marathi Zee 5 has officially unveiled its content slate for its second year. The new lineup expands the platform's footprint across returning original series, direct-to-digital films, post-theatrical streaming, stand-up comedy specials, AI-assisted titles, and live global sports.

The platform’s original series slate is anchored by the return of two flagship titles. Season 2 of Hey Kay Navin?, produced by Bahawa Entertainment, reunites real-life star couple Umesh Kamat and Priya Bapat. Meanwhile, Cinemasters Production’s Devkhel brings back Ankush Chaudhari and Prajakta Mali for its second season.

Expanding its scripted original lineup, Marathi Zee 5 is launching Kon Yashwant Pansare?, starring veteran actor Bharat Jadhav alongside Sharvari Jamenis, Pushkar Shrotri, and Shivani Rangole. The platform is also introducing 112, a high-stakes drama created by filmmaker Nikhil Mahajan (Godavari) and directed by Jeejivisha Kale and Rohit Satpute under Coquelicot Pictures.

Addressing the vision behind the expansion, the platform’s leadership emphasised a long-term commitment to the regional ecosystem. VR Hema, Chief Channel Officer – Zee Marathi & Business Head – Marathi Zee 5, said the team's conviction when they launched the platform was that Marathi audiences "deserved a dedicated streaming destination with a consistent pipeline of premium, original content created specifically for them."

"As we enter our second year, our ambition is to build on that foundation and take the ecosystem forward."

On the film front, Marathi Zee 5’s presentation blends theatrical hits with exclusive direct-to-digital premieres. The post-theatrical lineup features Zee Studios' Tumbadchi Manjula, a horror-comedy starring Jitendra Joshi, Sai Tamhankar, Makarand Anaspure, and Om Bhutkar.

Joining it is comedy Bhootam Bhayam, featuring Neel Salekar, Siddhant Sarfare, Shubham Jadhav, Saurabh Ghadge, and Karan Sonawane. The platform is also premiering Adkitta, an original direct-to-digital feature produced by Mangesh Pawar Company, headlined by Siddharth Chandekar, Sakhi Gokhale, and Sai Tamhankar.

Detailing the evolving expectations of regional viewers and the platform's standard for production values, Hema highlighted that quality and cultural roots must go hand-in-hand.

"One of the most interesting trends we've observed is that Marathi audiences have a strong appetite for authenticity. They gravitate towards stories that feel rooted in their culture, language and lived experiences, but that doesn't mean they only want familiar narratives. In fact, we've seen viewers embrace a wide range of genres, from family dramas and relationship-led stories to thrillers, mysteries and more unconventional concepts, as long as the storytelling feels credible and emotionally engaging."

To diversify beyond traditional drama formats, the platform is introducing a dedicated comedy slot alongside tech-driven and sports programming. The non-fiction lineup includes Hasva Hasavi – The Marathi Stand-Up Show from Anish Goregoankar Productions and a suite of AI titles, including Garuda, Vikram Vetal, Shiv Sati, Chandrakanta, Tirupati Balaji, Narmada, Ram Anjanay Yudha, and Barbarik.
