Nithya Menen, who won a National Film Award for her role in Dhanush-starrer Thiruchitrambalam (2022), will soon be starring in and producing a new Tamil film. The newly launched film is said to be a dark comedy with fantasy elements. It will be directed by Deekay, who has previously made Tamil comedies such as Kavalai Vendam (2016) and Yaamirukka Bayamey (2014). Apart from Menen, Leo Vision Productions is a co-producer of the film.
Vikram K Kumar, the director of Suriya starrer 24, which also co-starred Nithya Menen, joins the film as a creative producer. The film is set to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. The film has cinematography by A. Sakthivel and editing by Richard Kevin.
In February of this year, Nithya Menen launched her own production company, Keyuri Productions, formally entering film production alongside acting. The move signals a strategic expansion for the versatile performer, who has steadily built a reputation for choosing character-driven roles across multiple South Indian industries.
In the statement, Menen indicated that the decision is motivated not merely by the desire to produce films but by a broader ambition to support stories that resonate with contemporary audiences. With her track record for strong script selection and performance-led cinema, expectations are building around the banner’s official announcement.
In 2021, she produced Skylab in Telugu, a sci-fi comedy set in the late 70’s. Her last three releases have all been in Tamil: Idli Kadai, Kadhalikka Neramillai and Thalaivan Thalaivi, all of which were released last year in 2025. As for Vikram Kumar, he made the Naga Chaitanya film Thank You (2022).
