The trailer for Hi introduces Kavin as Mayilsamy, a man who has given up on love, and Nayanthara as Devayani, a bold, self-assured woman who grounds him in reality. Their unusual romance, seemingly one-sided at first, unfolds as Mayilsamy vows to make his future wife fall in love with him after marriage, setting up a fresh take on Tamil romantic storytelling.

Zee Studios South unveiled the trailer for Hi, the upcoming Tamil romantic drama starring Nayanthara and Kavin. Written and directed by Vishnu Edavan, the film is slated for a global theatrical release on August 28.

Sharing the trailer on social media, the banner wrote, "The wait is over! The #HI Trailer is OUT NOW [Tamil] ! Get ready to say HI to the world of Kavin & Nayanthara! #HiMovie Mark your calendars for AUGUST 28 as the most heartwarming entertainer of the season arrives in theatres."

The trailer opens to introduce Kavin's character, Mayilsamy, a young man who has given up on the idea of falling in love or finding himself a partner. Then comes Nayanthara's Devayani, a spirited young woman who stands up for herself and helps Mayilsamy stay realistic and grounded.

What follows is a love story, though seemingly one-sided. A scene in the trailer shows Mayilsamy declaring that while he might have fallen in love with the woman he is set to marry, he will ensure that she falls in love with him too once they are wed.

Zee Studios South shared on August 7 that the film's release date would be postponed from its previously announced August 14 slot to August 28.

The film's technical crew includes cinematography by Rajesh Shukla, editing by Lokesh Kanagaraj's frequent collaborator Philomin Raj, music by Jen Martin, and art and stunt direction by Sekar B and Dinesh Kasi.

Nayanthara is also starring in Yash's Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, the period gangster film directed by Geetu Mohandas, which has been locked for an August 26 release. She will also be seen in a film opposite Salman Khan, which recently entered production in Mumbai. The as-yet-untitled film, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, is billed as a large-scale action entertainer and will be Salman's follow-up to Maatrubhumi, which is currently awaiting release.

Kavin was last seen in Tamil fantasy comedy Kiss and thriller Mask.
