Rajinikanth's Jailer 2 skips the traditional audio launch for a unique three-hour TV interview, airing on October 11. Certified UA 16+ with a runtime of 165 minutes, the film promises intense drama and action, featuring the superstar as a mysterious car driver. The movie is set to be released worldwide on October 15.

Director Nelson’s Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth, has received a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with the film’s runtime set at 165 minutes and 18 seconds. The certification details were updated on the CBFC’s official website on Tuesday, two days after producer Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures unveiled the trailer. The film is scheduled to hit theatres worldwide on October 15.

Ahead of the release, the makers have opted for a relatively low-key promotional strategy, foregoing the elaborate audio launches that have often accompanied Rajinikanth’s films. Instead, they have opted for a rare three-hour television interview with the superstar. Scheduled for October 11, the special will air on Sun TV from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, just four days before Jailer 2 arrives in theatres. The primetime appearance is expected to be among the film’s key promotional events ahead of its release.

Jailer 2 sees the return of Rajinikanth's 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian, though now as a silent, kept-to-himself car driver, as revealed by the recent trailer. A voiceover follows, revealing that "he didn't go into hiding after killing Varman."

The film's new additions also make an appearance in the trailer, with SJ Suryah's recently introduced Bodhi Kalpak speaking directly to the camera, saying "Can only the Jailer set up snipers? Why wouldn't I?" Suryah's Kalpak is later seeing speaking angrily to someone on the phone, adding "More than you killing him, we should see him suffer and bleed to death!"
