Screenings of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay’s A-rated final film Jana Nayagan were halted in Chennai after minors were found in adults-only shows, including a disrupted morning screening at PVR Ampa Mall. Police intervened, and families with children were asked to leave.

A few shows of Tamil film star and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's final film, Jana Nayagan, were recently halted in Chennai when minors were found watching the 'A'-rated film, according to reports.

An incident was reported during the 9:25 am screening at PVR Cinemas in Ampa Mall in Chennai, where a patron who attended the show claimed that the film was stopped roughly 10 minutes after it began. Police officers entered the auditorium following reports that several families had brought children into the adults-only screening. The person also reportedly shared videos from inside the theatre, alleging that the screening was delayed for nearly an hour while families accompanied by minors were asked to leave.

In terms of the film's box office numbers, Jana Nayagan registered a dip this week following an impressive run over the weekend. After registering ₹10.65 crore on its first Monday, the film witnessed a further dip to collect ₹ 8 crore on Tuesday, India net.

Meanwhile, Tamil filmmaker H Vinoth, in a recent event, confirmed that six deleted scenes from  Jana Nayagan might be released soon. "There are about six scenes, two of them with fun scenes from sir [Vijay], two action scenes, and two emotional scenes. The production will roll them out soon, hopefully by next week," the filmmaker said.

Despite mixed reviews, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamil film star C Joseph Vijay's final film grossed ₹217.48 crore at the worldwide box office, following a four-day weekend run at the theatres, according to Sacnilk

Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is produced by Venkat K. Narayana under KVN Productions, the same banner behind Toxic and Karavali. The film stars Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj and Narain. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Pradeep E. Ragav.

The box office performance comes in after the film faced severe headwinds ahead of its theatrical debut—spending six months embroiled in a CBFC certification dispute before an HD print was pirated and leaked online in April.
