Karan Johar has announced that his iconic chat show Koffee With Karan will end with its ninth and final season, streaming on JioHotstar from October 14. After 22 years, eight seasons and 161 episodes, Johar calls time on a series that shaped pop culture, sparked controversies and built enduring fandom, bidding farewell with gratitude to audiences.
Karan Johar is raising his mug one last time. The filmmaker has announced that his iconic chat show, Koffee With Karan, is coming to an end.
After 22 years, 8 seasons and 161 episodes of conversations that defined pop culture, the chat show will return for its ninth—and final—season on JioHotstar, streaming from October 14.
In an emotionally charged announcement, Johar looked back at the journey that has been as unpredictable, irreverent and unforgettable as the show itself acknowledging the controversies, conjecture, trolling and conversations that have followed Koffee With Karan since its debut in 2004.
Speaking about the final season, Johar said, "There are some journeys you don't plan to end, you simply know, somewhere deep within you, when it is time to let them go. Koffee With Karan has been an extraordinary part of my life. It has given me friendships, memories, moments of complete madness, a lot of love and, yes, its fair share of controversy!"
But through all of it, Johar said, what has remained constant was the audience.
"They have laughed with us, debated us, trolled us, celebrated us and, most importantly, kept coming back for another cup. Saying goodbye is emotional, but it also feels right. This final season is my way of raising the mug one last time with gratitude, with love and with everyone who has made Koffee With Karan what it is. So, come have one last cup of Koffee with me. One last time."
