Salman Khan appeared on the final season of Koffee with Karan and declined to pick a more impactful performance between Ranbir Kapoor's performance in Animal with Ranveer Singh's in Dhurandhar when asked by Karisma Kapoor, who made a special appearance on the show. Khan noted that both are fantastic actors who could not be compared. He specifically pointed Ranveer's restrained performance in the Aditya Dhar-directed spy thriller as a standout quality.
Salman Khan appeared as the first guest on the ninth and final season of Koffee with Karan, headling the the first episode of which dropped on October 14. During the episode, when asked to name the more intense performance, the actor declined to choose between Ranbir Kapoor's turn in Animal (2023) and Ranveer Singh's act in Dhurandhar (2025).
When Karisma Kapoor made a special appearance to guest host the famed rapid fire section of the show, Khan responded to the question by refusing to pick a more impactful performance between the two, stating that both performances were different in their own ways and could not be compared.
"Two different kinds of performance, you cannot compare any of them," Khan said.
When Kapoor reacted to his answer, saying he was being diplomatic, Khan elaborated on his reasoning. "It is not diplomatic at all, both are fantastic actors. One has got a tremendous amount of energy. One has got a tremendous amount of intensity. Both have different styles of acting."
Khan, however, pointed out why Ranveer's performance stood out to him. He explained that the role required the actor to contain his usual "larger than life" energy without any insecurities, which Khan felt he pulled off successfully. "Especially for Ranveer in Dhurandhar, he had to control all his energy. He does everything larger than life, he had to control that. For an actor, that's a huge amount of insecurity, that he didn't have in the film. He was very secure as an actor and in that role for Dhurandhar."
During the episode, host Karan Johar, Khan and surprise guest Kapoor, reminisced on memories from filmmaking in the 1990s. Johar and Khan bonded over memories of working with each other's fathers, Khan also opened up about health challenges over the years and how he has motivated himself to stay fit despite numerous illnesses, injuries and health scares.
Salman Khan was last seen in the Saudi Arabian action thriller 7 Dogs and is next set to headline Apoorva Lakhia's Maatrubhumi, which is slated for a Diwali or Christmas 2026 release. The actor will also star in Vamshi Paidipally's upcoming film, currently titled SVC63, which sees him opposite Nayanthara on screen.
