Akhil Akkineni returns to the big screen with Lenin, an intense Telugu action drama where love sparks a brutal village war. The trailer shows Lenin’s romance with Bharathi turning into conflict, echoing Kurukshetra from the Mahabharata.
In the trailer of Akhil Akkineni's upcoming Telugu film Lenin, the actor prepares for war. A war that is fought over love. The three-minute-long video depicts the love between Lenin (Akkineni) and Bharathi (Bhagyashri Borse), which later becomes a reason for a battle in their village.
The film, written and directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, co-stars Sivaji, Brahmaji, Easwari Rao, and Sunil, among others. "No war is more violent than love," the trailer observes, as the protagonist goes through a major development towards the end, drawing parallels between Kurukshetra, the ancient battlefield of the Mahabharata, and his situation. The movie has music by Thaman, editing by Navin Nooli and camerawork by Leon Britto.
The film marks Akkineni's comeback to the big screen after 2023 film Agent. The upcoming film, which saw delays in its release dates, will not be out in theatres on July 10.
The film, which was earlier scheduled to be released on June 26, was recently pushed to July, as announced by producer, Telugu star and Akhil's father, Nagarjuna."Team #Lenin came to me with a request. They asked for a little more time to give their absolute 100% and create something very special. Their passion and spirit made me say yes. మనోడు 10th July వస్తున్నాడు. I say again you will see a new Akhil!! Get ready for the #Lenin experience," Nagarjuna wrote on X.
Borse was last seen in Andhra King Taluka and Kaantha, both films that were released last year. Lenin is being produced under the banners of Manam Enterprises LLP and Sithara Entertainments by Akkineni Nagarjuna and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi.
Akhil Akkineni tied the knot with his fiancée Zainab Ravdjee on June 6 last year. The duo got married in a traditional Telugu wedding ceremony at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, among family and friends.
