Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna resumes shooting for Dada after recovering from an injury sustained during an action sequence. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film is a commercial action spectacle featuring a star-studded cast and is set for a December 24 release.
On July 21 this year, actor Nandamuri Balakrishna suffered an injury while shooting an action sequence at Kakinada Port for his upcoming film Dada. After months of rest, the actor has finally stepped back into his role as the lead character nicknamed "The King of Chaos."
Dada marks the second collaboration between the veteran actor and director Gopichand Malineni, following the success of their first film together Veera Simha Reddy.
The film is currently shooting a lengthy and pivotal schedule in Mysore, that is said to focus on the talkie portions lead by Balakrishna and several other famed actors. The makers are also looking to film its key sequences, suggesting that the Mysore shoot will be a critical phase in the production.
In a glimpse of the film, which was released in August this year, the actor is seen sporting a blingy leather jacket, wearing a pair of white sunglasses and, in a particular scene, surround by police officers while being seated at the centre of what looks like a police station. He is also seen carrying a rifle and using a hammer a deadly weapon.
Touted as a commercial action spectacle, Dada will co-star Kajal Aggarwal, Samuthirakani, Manchu Manoj, Sarath Kumar, Abhimanyu Singh, Upendra Limaye, Manish Wadhwa and Swasika.
The film is written and directed by Malineni, and is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru. Arvind Kashyap is the film’s DOP and it's music score is composed by Thaman S.
Dada is scheduled to release in theatres on December 24.
