Actor Ram Charan's latest feature Peddi has registered a spectacular opening day at the global box office, comfortably crossing the ₹100 crore gross milestone on day one, inclusive of select paid previews. Also starring Janhvi Kapoor, the sports action drama helmed by director Buchi Babu Sana benefited from a sensational start across the core Telugu markets alongside massive paid preview numbers on Wednesday.
With its explosive debut, the film has officially recorded the third-highest premiere gross in the history, trailing only behind juggernauts like Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and They Call Him OG.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Peddi generated an impressive ₹21.83 crore gross (approximately ₹18.50 crore nett) through its Wednesday evening previews alone. Building heavily on that initial momentum, the feature went on to secure a massive day-one haul, tracking around ₹60 crore all-India gross (estimated ₹51 crore nett).
The film’s native home turf of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed a whopping ₹48 crore gross. Including the paid preview numbers, the film’s pan-India nett total currently stands at ₹69.50 crore.
Including the worldwide gross across Wednesday's previews and Thursday's full theatrical rollout, the film has clocked an estimated ₹112 crore globally. As reported by the industry tracker, Peddi has become the 11th Telugu film to achieve the coveted ₹100 crore worldwide opening-day milestone.
In terms of the paid previews, the film is comfortably ahead of other biggies on the list, including Pushpa 2: The Rule (₹12.57 crore gross) and Hari Hara Veera Mallu (₹15.05 crore). While the top two entries are Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and They Call Him OG, at ₹51.60 crore and ₹24.78 crore, respectively.
The film, also starring Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu, is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, in collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and IVY Entertainment, with co-producer Ishan Saksena.
Peddi was released in North India by Jio Studios following the grand success of Dhurandhar, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and the Marathi blockbuster Raja Shivaji, which was written and directed by Riteish Deshmukh.
