Ramayana: Part 1 has been officially titled Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, with a new poster confirming its IMAX and 3D release in Hindi and English. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and led by Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Yash as Raavan, the epic adaptation is slated to hit theatres during Diwali on November 5, 2026, with the second instalment planned for 2027.

The makers of the much-awaited epic announced on September 28, on the ocassion of lead actor Ranbir Kapoor's birthday, that the first part of the two-film saga is confirmed for a November 6 release, and will be released in both Hindi and English in IMAX and other formats.
Sony Pictures took to X to announce, "Mankind’s greatest story comes to life. From the visual artists behind The Odyssey and Dune comes RAMAYANA: RISE OF A LEGEND - the most immersive 3D cinematic experience ever - exclusively in theatres, in IMAX and Premium Large Formats worldwide November 6."
The new poster announcement also reconfirms the film's IMAX release, adding that it will have 'the most immersive 3D cinematic experience'.
The visuals of the poster are the same as previously released, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Ram faced against Yash's Raavan. It features a new tagline, reading, "Mankind's greatest story comes to life."
The first full trailer for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana was unveiled on July 30, offering audiences their biggest look yet at the filmmaker's ambitious adaptation of the Indian epic. Released during the Brahma Muhurat at 4.15 a.m., the trailer introduced the central conflict between Lord Ram and Raavan while showcasing the expansive mythological world recreated for the big screen.
Led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Raavan, the film also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, alongside Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, Shobana, Saurabh Sachdeva and Faisal Malik. The ensemble cast also features Indira Krishnan, Adinath Kothare and several other actors in key mythological roles.
Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is scheduled to release in theatres on November 5, 2026, during the Diwali weekend, with the second instalment set to follow in 2027.
