Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One premiered in Mumbai, drawing stars like Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Sunny Deol, and Neetu Kapoor. The mythological epic, set for a November 5 release, is a two-part project featuring cutting-edge VFX and a stellar cast, including Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita, timed perfectly for the festive Diwali season.
With Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One due in theatres on November 5, the makers held a premiere in Mumbai that drew a large section of the Indian film industry. Lead actor Ranbir Kapoor attended alongside Alia Bhatt, Sunny Deol, Neetu Kapoor and Vivek Oberoi, among others, ahead of the film’s worldwide release.
Alia Bhatt wore a teal linen saree and a heavily beaded blouse, and posed for photographers against a cosmic-themed backdrop. Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir's mother, accompanied the actor. Ranbir Kapoor opted for a maroon kurta with dark jeans and greeted the media with folded hands, thanking audiences for their response to the film. Sunny Deol arrived in a white suit.
Tiwari, the director, came with his wife, filmmaker Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and their children. Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshman, attended with his wife, actor Sargun Mehta. Lara Dutta, Kunal Kapoor and Sache Parampara were also present for the premier, as were Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet, Jackky Bhagnani and casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
The film is among the most anticipated releases of the year, arriving days ahead of Diwali, a timing the makers appear to have chosen deliberately for a mythological epic. Ramayana has been in the public eye for months, through trailer launches and its scale as a two-part project built on a large VFX effort with DNEG. Part One now opens to audiences at the start of the festive week, with box office expectations resting on holiday footfall.
The film casts Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios produces the project in association with DNEG, the eight-time Academy Award-winning visual effects studio, and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. Ramayana is planned as a two-part epic. Part One releases on November 5 2026, with Part Two to follow at Diwali 2027.
