Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Maa Inti Bangaaram has stormed past Anushka Shetty’s landmark Arundhati, grossing ₹78.71 crore worldwide in just ten days against Arundhati’s lifetime ₹70 crore. The June 19 release, an action-family drama about a homemaker confronting her violent past, marks Samantha’s second collaboration with director B.V. Nandini Reddy and has a sequel already in development.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Maa Inti Bangaaram has surpassed the lifetime worldwide gross of Anushka Shetty starrer Arundhati (2009), one of the long-standing benchmarks for women-led Telugu films, in its ten-day theatrical run. The film's worldwide gross collection stood at ₹78.71 crore after its tenth day, placing it ahead of Arundhati's approximately ₹70 crore worldwide lifetime total.
The action-family drama, directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy, released in theatres on June 19 and opened with ₹5.15 crore India net on its first day, and jumped to ₹9.5 crore on its third day, seeing a rise in its numbers.
By day ten, the film's India net collection had reached ₹48.25 crore after a total gross collection of ₹78.71 crore.
The film united Reddy with Samantha for the second time, following their hit Telugu fantasy comedy Oh Baby (2019). Written by Raj Nidimoru and Vasanth Maringanti, the June 19 release follows the life of a homemaker (played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu), who is forced to reckon with her action-packed past. Produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru, and Himank Duvvuru, the film features Diganth Manchale and Gulshan Devaiah in key roles alongside a supporting cast of Sree Mukhi, Gautami, Anand, Lakshmi, Srinivas Gavireddy, and Manjusha.
Samantha’s recent projects include the Telugu horror comedy Subham (2025) and the action spy drama Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Indian spin-off of the American series, which released in 2024. Her filmography comprises projects such as Eega (2012), The Family Man Season 2 (2021) and others.
At the film's success event, producer Raj Nidimoru announced that a sequel, Maa Inti Bangaaram Part 2, is already in development and is expected to be made within two years, with the same core team returning.
