Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up after Doctor Strange’s memory-wiping spell, with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker living in a world where MJ, Ned and everyone else have forgotten him. The new trailer teases his struggle with uncontrollable powers, a dangerous new threat to New York, and an uneasy alliance with Bruce Banner’s Hulk. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, it hits Indian theatres on July 30.
Sony Pictures has released a new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, offering a closer look at Tom Holland's Peter Parker nearly five years after the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The trailer release also confirmed the film’s India release date as July 30.
The trailer introduces a world where Peter Parker returns as Spider-Man, this time in a world that no longer remembers him, after the events of No Way Home, where Doctor Strange’s spell erased public memory of Peter’s identity. Peter is left with no control over his actions as the superhero, and the trailer reveals that he seeks the help of Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Hulk, Dr. Bruce Banner, to help him suppress "the bad aspects" of his powers.
Scenes from the trailer suggest that Peter is struggling to move forward as those closest to him, including MJ, played by Zendaya, and his best friend Ned, played by Jacob Batalon, continue their lives completely unaware of who he is or their past connection to him.
The film also introduces a fresh threat facing New York City. While the trailer does not fully reveal the nature of the antagonist, it hints at a threat the city has never seen before nor can control; a threat only Spider-Man is immune to and can sense. The trailer is packed with action scenes of Spider-Man and the Hulk, with tons of villians.
The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who has directed MCU’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The fourth of MCU’s Spider-Man franchise led by Holland, the film is the latest installment in the series since 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink (playing a mystery character rumoured to be Jean Grey), Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo, among others.
The film is scheduled to release in India on July 30 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. It will be available in multiple theatrical formats, including 2D and 3D presentations, with tickets for certain formats currently available.
