Yash’s gangster epic Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is poised for a historic opening, with global pre-sales around ₹85 crore and over 18.48 lakh tickets sold for day one. Industry tracking suggests a worldwide opening above ₹100 crore, which would make it only the second Kannada film after KGF: Chapter 2 to hit that mark on debut.

Yash's return to the big screen will prove to be historic, at least as far as the opening day is concerned. The actor's latest gangster epic Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is set to take a bumper start at the box-office, as the film has registered a total global pre-sales of around ₹85 crore gross.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is expected to open strongly across the board, with the Hindi market and its home turf, Karnataka, leading in terms of collections.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, for day one alone, the film has sold over 18.48 lakh tickets across 25,654 scheduled shows, yielding an advance gross of ₹58.27 crore (₹73 crore including block seats).

With the current trending, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is looking to open globally at over ₹100 crore. When it does that, it will become the second Kannada film in history to cross the milestone after K.G.F: Chapter 2, which was also headlined by Yash and was a giant blockbuster.

The film is showing unprecedented traction across multiplex chains, epsecially in Hindi. Initial tracking projects an opening-day Hindi net collection in the ₹35 to ₹40 crore range, putting Toxic on track to record the highest opening day ever for an original South film in the Hindi market.

Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi, and Tara Sutaria.

Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, Toxic: A Fairy-Tale for Grown-Ups is written by Yash and Geetu Mohandas.
