Mysskin's action thriller 'Train,' starring Vijay Sethupathi, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on December 4, 2026. Produced by Kalaippuli S. Thanu under V Creations, the film marks Mysskin's directorial return after six years and his first collaboration with Sethupathi. The teaser, unveiled in July, promises an intense, vengeful ride with striking visuals and no dialogue.

The makers of Mysskin's Vijay Sethupathi-led Train have confirmed the film's new release date. The long-awaited action thriller is now set to open in theatres worldwide on December 4, 2026.

Kalaippuli S Thanu, the film's producer under the V Creations banner, announced the release announcement. His post read, "Get ready for the ride! #Train storms into cinemas worldwide on 'DECEMBER 4'!"

Thanu shared the release date with a new poster for the film, which sees Sethupathi in an angry avatar. The film has also been cleared with a U/A certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

After a six-year break from directing, following his 2020 release Psycho, Mysskin returns with his new project Train, starring Vijay Sethupathi. The makers of the film unveiled its highly anticipated teaser in July this year. The teaser, 43 seconds long, was quick, intense, vengeful and barely gave the audience time to process one moment before jumping to the next.

Starring Sethupathi, Nasser and Shruti Haasan in lead roles, the teaser, rich with bright and dark visuals that play with the audience's senses, added to the film's overall feel and sense of thrill. Interestingly, it ran entirely on background noise, with no dialogue at all.

Train is an exciting title for Tamil cinema fans, not only because it is Mysskin's first directorial after a stretch spent focusing solely on acting, but also because Train will be his very first collaboration with Sethupathi. The film produced by Kalaippuli S. Thanu under the banner of V Creations, is written by Mysskin, edited by Sri Watson and features cinematography by Fowzia Fathima.

Vijay Sethupathi's more recent release, Baththa, directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan and presented by Atlee, released on October 1 this year. The actor also recently confirmed that the sequel to his 2024 action thriller, Maharaja, is in development. He explained that director Nithilan Saminathan had already narrated the story of Maharaja 2 to him, confirming the sequel is in development. Vijay Sethupathi's other upcoming projects include Jailer 2, Mani Ratnam's Inji Vellam, and Telugu film SlumDog: 33 Temple Road.
