The makers of Vaazha came out with an exciting update on April 14 and announced Vaazha 3, the next film in the popular Malayalam film series. Writer-producer Vipin Das made this announcement on Instagram.

"The Vaazha franchise has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined. Thanks to all the love you have given us! We launched Vaazha with the intention of introducing fresh talent to cinema, and we are committed to carrying that legacy forward in all future chapters. This is the only franchise where the door is always open, whether you want to write, direct, act, or compose," he wrote.

The upcoming film will be titled Vaazha 3 – Biopic of a Billion Girls. "While the title and the audience remain our constant pillars, the faces in front of and behind the camera will always represent the next generation of cinema. Like always, the directorial baton passes to Viswan Sreejith, who has been a vital part of my direction team. Production is set to begin by next year. We know it’s a long wait, but we promise to make it worth it!" Das wrote.

The post added that the team will conduct open auditions once the script is locked. Vaazha 2, a sequel to Vaazha was recently released in theatres, and made ₹163.50 crore worldwide. Directed by Savin SA, the film co-starred Hashir, Vinayak, Aju Varghese, Alan, Vijay Babu, and Ajin.

"It is a sequel that takes several leaps forward when it comes to the message of the first film. As moving as it was, Vaazha 1 talked about forceful parenting and the flaws of our education system—topics that have been addressed before. But in the sequel, it paints a realistic picture of the Malayali youth and their unrealistic expectations of migrating abroad. In a scene that’s as funny as it is eye-opening, we see images of a tuition centre in Kerala getting intercut with images of a strikingly similar college in London. When we see two of our boys struggling to catch hold of a single paracetamol tablet in the UK, the Malayali dream of moving abroad gets a much-needed reality check," read THR India's review of Vaazha 2.
