Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna’s team has filed a complaint with the Hyderabad cybercrime police, seeking an investigation into false and harmful online posts following their Koffee With Karan appearance. The complaint includes evidence of fabricated claims, doctored screenshots, and abusive content, urging legal action against those spreading misinformation.

Days after the couple’s Koffee With Karan Season 9 appearance became a weekend-long argument on social media, the team handling actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna approached the Hyderabad cybercrime police on Tuesday. A representative delivered a complaint in person, seeking an unbiased probe into posts and articles the team calls untrue and harmful that spread after the episode aired. The representative attached links and supporting evidence for officials to review.

“We hope the matter will be investigated in accordance with the law,” the team said in a statement.

The episode became a talking point, particularly after Deverakonda revealed that he wanted Mandanna to ask him to marry her more than 100 times before he said yes. Addressing this, Mandanna recently wrote, "It was never about the number of times or an entire year. That's where some of you got stuck. Yes, that conversation happened. But neither of us was looking for a grand proposal. The conversation was about him wanting both of us to take the time and space to understand each other, to be sure that despite all the highs and lows, the joys and stresses of life, this was what we wanted and the right time for it. And we did. We chose each other."

Creators and commentators filled Instagram feeds with reels and long posts, many of them dispensing relationship advice.

Mandanna stated that the couple have built their lives on their own terms, through their own choices and hard work. Viewers whose idea of love looks different, the actor wrote, are free to live in that version, while Mandanna would keep cheering for happy people everywhere, calling that the bare minimum everyone should aim for.

The post then turned to the reels and comments offering concern for the actor, including free relationship advice and warnings to run. Mandanna thanked those creators but pointed out that none of them were around a couple of years ago, when matters were genuinely difficult.

The team clarified that the complaint was not intended to curb genuine opinions or criticism, but to seek accountability for the dissemination of demonstrably false information or conduct that may violate the law.
