This week, Hindi cinema brings two eagerly-awaited titles to the screen. One is a cat-and-mouse chase starring Arshad Warsi and Pratik Gandhi while the other is a period drama centering on young revolutionaries —played by Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, Bhuvan Bam and Gurfateh Pirzada — who courageously led the arms resistance against the British Empire during the partition of India. Veteran actor Neena Gupta will also be seen leading a Netflix family drama, continuing her television run.

The Revolutionaries
Directed by Nikkhil Advani (Freedom at Midnight), The Revolutionaries is a period drama based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s bestselling book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom.
The series follows India’s young freedom fighters–Sachindranath Sanyal, Rash Behari Bose, Pratibha Lahiri and Bagha Jatin in their relentless pursuit to revolt against the British rule using arms. It features a young ensemble cast starring Rohit Saraf as Sachindranath Sanyal, Bhuvan Bam as Rash Behari Bose, Pratibha Ranta as Pratibha Lahiri and Gurfateh Pirzada as Bagha Jatin.
The Revolutionaries will premiere on Prime Video on September 11.
Ghamasaan
Tigmanshu Dhulia’s crime-drama Ghamasaan centers on a cat-and-mouse chase lead by actors Arshad Warsi and Pratik Gandhi. Warsi plays a vengeful dacoit while Gandhi plays the fearless IPS officer Aditya who is on a relentless chase to hunt down the dacoit while navigating a corrupt legal system that he tries to correct.
The film was also screened at the MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, the Cinevesture International Film Festival, and the 16th Chicago South Asian Film Festival.
Produced by Jio Studios and Golden Ratio Films, Ghamasaan is slated for a September 11 release on ZEE5.
Ali Baba aur 40 Bhooth
Directed by Kenny Basumatary, Rohan Goshe, Konarak Mukherjee and Rishav Agarwal, Ali Baba aur 40 Bhooth is a 40-episode horror-comedy that centers on Alisha, a neuropsychology expert guided by rationale and science who, after the death of her father, returns home and finds herself midst an experience that goes against everything she believes.
Along the way she runs into Babarao Deshmukh, a small town police officer who believes that ghosts and paranormal energies exist. Together, they set out to solve the mystery of the 40 cursed statues hidden in her house.
The series stars Asha Negi as Alisha and Vishal Vashishtha as Babarao Upadhaya, and is set to release on JioHotstar on September 11 with 4 new episodes releasing every Friday.
Chumbak
Starring Neena Gupta, Deven Bhojani, Amyra Dastur, Arjun Bijlani, Anant V. Joshi and Helly Shah, Chumbak is written and directed by Aatish Kapadi. The comedy series revolves around a young author and her support group of 5 closely-connected families living side by side in Mumbai. The families share everything with one another, meddling into trivial issues and taking each day as it comes while forming a family of their own as they navigate life's ups and downs.
The series will stream on Netflix on September 10.

Prince of Mollywood
Directed by Shani Khader, Prince of Mollywood is headlined by Dean Davis, Nirmal Palazhi and Vijaykumar. The series follows Firoz (Davis) whose only dream is to become a superstar. But, the only villain blocking his path to success is his millionaire father. With this, Firoz finds himself dealing with a difficult father and a love triangle, all while making his dream come true.
The series is set to release on JioHotstar on September 11.

Crew Girl
Crew Girl stars Miku Martineau, Jessica Paré and Samuel Braun in lead roles. The coming-of-age teenage drama follows Teagan Tao (Martineau) who, in an attempt to escapes the shame caused by her father’s financial fraud, flees with with her mother to small town where she finds herself to be the only female rower at her new school.
Directed by Norman Buckley, Jacquie Gould, Simon Barry, along with Amanda Tapping and Alysse Leite-Rogers who have directed one episode in the series, Crew Girl will arrive on Netflix on September 10.
