This week's streaming slate is packed with action, grit and legal drama. Taapsee Pannu leads Gandhari, an action-thriller about a mother's desperate hunt for her abducted daughter. Latest in Telugu streaming series is Prime Video's musical family drama Jagamae Sangeetham, adapted from the platform's Hindi series Bandish Bandits. Along with these are a Tamil family-legal drama and an English-language Cold War buddy comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh. Here's what to watch on streaming this week:

Gandhari

Directed by Devashish Makhija and written and produced by Kanika Dhillon, this action-thriller stars Taapsee Pannu as Bani, a mother whose daughter is kidnapped at a busy train station and is left unable to see following a violent attack. As she works through fear and grief, she is forced to confront a hidden network of child traffickers operating within the town of Joypurra. Alongside Pannu, the film's cast features Ishwak Singh, Chhaya Kadam, Swastika Mukherjee, Mita Vashisht and Jatin Sarna, along with Prashant Narayanan and Chandan Roy.

This intense thriller comes to Netflix on September 3.

Jagamae Sangeetham

Jagamae Sangeetham is a Telugu musical drama series based on Prime Video's original Hindi series Bandish Bandits. The series follows Balu, the grandson of Shastri, a musician who has spent his life devoted to Carnatic music. Heir to his grandfather's legacy, Balu finds himself navigating fractured family relationships, long-standing rivalries and his own artistic ambitions. The story places music at the centre of the family as expressions of devotion, resentment and longing.

Starring Prakash Raj, Meka Srikanth, Madhubala, Akshay Lagusani, and Sushmita Shetty in leading roles, the series will premiere worldwide on September 4.

This Hotstar Specials Tamil courtroom drama centres on an smart young lawyer with a stammer as she faces her famous father in a high-stakes legal battle. Starring R Yogalakshmi and V. Jayaprakash, this family courtroom battle comes to streaming on September 4.

Ryan Reynolds is back with a new buddy-comedy, an action-packed comedy thriller starring Reynolds as Lieutenant Troy "Assassin" Kelly, a US Navy pilot whose top-secret mission in Russian territory goes wrong, leaving him stranded behind enemy lines at the peak of the Cold War. He is found by Nikolai Ustinov, played by Kenneth Branagh, a gruff former KGB agent with an affinity for American culture. The two form an unlikely alliance as Troy tries to make it home. Also starring Maria Bakalova, Marcin Dorociński and David Morse, this film is written and directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein. Mayday premieres on September 4, on Apple TV.
