Here's what to watch in theaters this week:

Malayalam

Varavu

Directed by Shaji Kailas, Varavu is an action-thriller that follows a family forced to surrender to the elite in a hillside town. Years later when the past reignites and the wounds reopen, one man sets on a mission to avenge those who took from him, exposing a decade of corruption and lies. Joju George, Murali Gopy, and Arjun Ashokan are the lead actors in this film.

Sing Geetham

Starring Ahilya Bamroo as Gauri and Ayaan as Prathap, Sing Geetham follows Prathap who arrives in a remote, pristine village seeking better future, but finds himself at the cusp of a growing conflict between the village’s deeply rooted traditions and modern development. As this conflict grows bigger and secrets unearth, he is set journey challenging his purpose and destiny. This fantasy film is directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao.

Double Occupancy

Directed by Aswin Kandasamy, the romance-drama stars Santhosh Prathap and Samyukta Viswanathan, among others. Rajini plays a double life, transforming into a woman by day and a man by night. Hiding this gender swap becomes challenging and confusing, creating relationship complications.  

Hindi

Governor: The Silent Savior

Manoj Bajpayee, Adah Sharma, and Madhoo star together in Chinmay Mandlekar’s political drama Governor: The Silent Savior. The movie follows appointed RBI Governor, A. Ramanan (played by Bajpayee), at the height of India's 1990s economic crisis, A. Ramanan must pull the nation back from the brink of collapse, with the entire system standing in his way.

Sing Geetham

Main Vaapas Aaunga

Imtiaz Ali is back with yet another romance for the big screen. Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, and Vedaang Raina star in a story rooted in partition-era migration that traces love, longing, and the search for belonging across generations. Main Vaapas Aaunga explores how memory and emotional connection to home shape identity long after the world once known has disappeared.

Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata

A movie inspired by true events, Manoj Tapadia’s Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata stars Kangana Renaut, Girija Oak, and Smita Tambe, who lead this thrilling story that celebrates the unseen heroes during the 26/11 terror attacks that brought Mumbai to a standstill. The movie follows a group of hospital workers fighting to keep 400 patients alive inside Cama Hospital as armed assailants close in.

Disclosure Day

Produced by five-time Academy Award nominee Kristie Macosko Krieger and Steven Spielberg for Amblin Entertainment, Disclosure Day unfolds on a government-mandated day of transparency, when classified files on surveillance, corporate manipulation, and political scandals are scheduled for public release, even as powerful forces race to keep them buried. The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor and Colin Firth as key characters.

Backrooms

This highly-anticipated psychological horror is directed by Kane Parsons and casts Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, and Mark Duplass in lead roles. Backrooms follows a therapist (played by Reinsve) who ventures into the depths of a different dimension to uncover the disappearance of one of her patients.

Raakh

Raakh is a new Hindi series set against the backdrop of the 1970s. What begins as a missing persons investigation slowly develops into a disturbing criminal conspiracy involving children. As investigators dig deeper, they uncover darker truths hidden beneath the surface. The series premieres on Amazon Prime Video on June 12 and features Sonali Bendre, Ali Fazal and Aamir Bashir in key roles.

Maa Hai Na (Series)

Hosted by Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Maa Hai Na is a lively cooking reality show where Gen Z celebrities team up with their mothers to tackle culinary challenges, blending chaos, love and tradition along the way. The 10-episode series promises generous helpings of laughter, emotion and generational clashes. The show premieres on ZEE5 on June 12.

Sweet Magnolias Season 5 (Series)

Netflix's popular romantic drama Sweet Magnolias returns with its fifth season this week. The new chapter continues the lives of close friends Maddie, Dana Sue and Helen as they balance careers, relationships and family responsibilities. All 10 episodes are set to release on Netflix on June 11.
