Triptii Dimri is Victoria's Secret's First Ever Indian Brand Ambassador

The Hollywood Reporter India meets Dimri backstage before the big announcement, where she opens up about fashion, representation and everything in between

There’s a quiet shift underway in how stardom intersects with fashion, and Triptii Dimri stands right at the cusp of it. The first-ever Indian brand ambassador for Victoria’s Secret, she’s backstage in a black corset and skirt, speaking to the media moments before stepping out for the official announcement. The energy in the room is palpable, and it's clear that she's just made history.

In conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Dimri reflects on what this association means to her — not just as a professional milestone, but as a representation of Indian women on a global stage. There’s an ease to the way she speaks about style, confidence, and self-acceptance — values that mirror her own journey from trend follower to someone who dresses for herself.

As she looks ahead, both in fashion and film, Dimri seems guided by one clear instinct: to choose authenticity over everything else.

Here's an excerpt from the conversation.

Triptii Dimri

The Hollywood Reporter India: Triptii, as an actor, what does it mean to be an ambassador of Victoria’s Secret?

Triptii Dimri: It means a great deal to me. It’s a brand that I’ve long admired. I remember watching the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show as a kid with my sister and being emsmerised by it. Now that I’ve gotten the opportunity to be an ambassador and represent my own country, I feel extremely proud. It’s also wonderful to represent Indian women and their confidence.

THR India: How has your personal style evolved over the years?

TD: Earlier, I would follow the trends, wear what everybody else was wearing to look cool. But I think I failed at that and now, [my style involves] anything that I feel comfortable in, anything that makes me feel more like myself.

THR India: Speaking of trends, what one that you’re loving right now, and one that you want to be rid of?

TD: I’m loving the structured, tailored looks, that looks pretty cool. And the one that I want to avoid is anything that is uncomfortable, that’s a no for me.

THR India: What are you wearing when you’re not styled or on set?

TD: Everything from the Summer Signature collection. It’s just too comfortable.

THR India: What kind of characters or stories are you looking to be a part of in the next phase of your career?

TD: In the next phase, I’m looking to do something that can challenge me as an actor. Stories that feel authentic, real and honest.
