Indian cricketing legend Yuvraj Singh’s playful “Sharam Karo” Instagram reel, where he teased protégés Abhishek Sharma and Naman Dhir for “doing nothing” for him, has evolved into a light-hearted Airbnb campaign. The juniors surprised him with an unplanned Goa getaway, highlighting their warm senior-junior bond and celebrating spontaneous, personalised travel experiences.
Earlier this year, on May 5, Indian cricketing legend Yuvraj Singh took to Instagram in a style that feels innately him: banter-filled, unserious, and happy to publicly call out his protégés—something he has done plenty of times before, and to the fans' growing delight.
In the famous "Sharam Karo" reel, Singh is seen reading aloud a letter from cricketer Rishabh Pant who had gifted him a golf club, followed by publicly teasing cricketers Abhishek Sharma, Naman Dhir, Shubman Gill, along with others, for never doing anything for him.
Sharma and Dhir responded in a way that perfectly encapsulated their senior-junior bond, surprising him with a Goa Airbnb holiday, with no reservations, no itinerary, and no agenda, stretching the banter even further.
The new Airbnb film captures the Punjabi trio living out their bond, with the duo up to no good: setting up a perfect pool day through their Airbnb host and requesting a chef to stir up some kadhi chawal, then attempting to take complete credit for it. They end the holiday playing a spontaneous game of gully cricket with the Airbnb staff, showing what can come with the right people in the right space.
Singh shared his thoughts on the collaboration, stating, “Everyone has a style that's uniquely their own and the best travel experiences are no different. What I love about Airbnb is that every home has a character, a soul to it. It doesn't try to be everything to everyone. When the boys brought me to Goa, the stay felt like it was made for exactly the kind of trip we wanted: unhurried, personal, ours. That, for me, is what makes a trip truly memorable.”
"We landed in Goa with zero plan and full confidence and somehow pulled off the perfect trip for Yuvi Paaji. Every time he mentioned something he wanted, Airbnb made it happen. We realised the best trips aren’t about the perfect itinerary, they’re about adapting to the people you’re travelling with,” said Sharma and Dhir.
The collaboration is a part of Airbnb's Stay Your Way campaign, an ode to and celebration of travel experience defined by what one loves, friendships and the freedom to follow your passion. Whether it's unwinding with friends, savouring your favourite food or trading an ordinary afternoon for a full-blown cricket match, the campaign highlights that no two trips ever look the same.
