Kairam Vaashi reviews Adarsha Kutumbam, writer-director Trivikram Srinivas’s family crime comedy starring Venkatesh, Srinidhi Shetty and Nivetha Pethuraj. Centred on Chitti Babu and his family’s move into a lavish ₹20-crore villa, the film brings together a household, a ruthless dacoit gang and the police pursuing them. Kairam finds the first half engaging, with a convincing collision of these worlds and an interval block that cleverly upends the structure of a conventional climax.

The second half, however, loses momentum through convenient writing, an uneven investigation track and muddled intercutting. Venkatesh’s performance and the humour provide some of the strongest moments, while Srinidhi fits in well and Satya delivers laughs. Kairam also examines Trivikram’s familiar missteps, the “Narayanamma” song and Thaman’s background score, before reflecting on the film’s central idea: building and protecting a family takes more than simply being born into one.

The THR India Bottomline: From this AK-47’s magazine, a few bullets hit the target dead-on, while others merely produce a bit of smoke. It's only when a scene does neither—and misfires completely—that you truly feel the dead weight of the film.
