In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, the actor said the film shares its theme with its emotional blockbuster. "Taare Zameen Par is a very emotional film that makes you cry. Sitaare Zameen Par will make you laugh." The actor also described the film as being much ahead of Taare Zameen Par. While the original had Aamir's character help a young boy (the film details an eight-year-old's battle with dyslexia), the sequel would see ten people with challenges come together to help Aamir's character.

Written by Divy Nidhi Sharma, the film also marks the return of the beloved trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who composed the original's indelible soundtrack.

Recently, during global entertainment summit WAVES 2025, Aamir Khan raised the issue of needing to roll out affordable cinema tickets so that it encourages more people to watch films on the big screen.

"In the US, which is one-third of our population, they have 40,000 screens and China has 90,000 screens! In the 10,000 that we have, half are in the South and the other in the rest of the country. So for a Hindi film, there are only 5000 screens available," Aamir explained, adding that we need to have a lot more theatres in India.
