After 'Vaazha 2', Malayalam Actor Hashir To Lead 'NJODI'

Actor Hashir, who is known for his role in Vaazha 2, has signed his second film as lead with a project titled Njodi. The title translates to “snap”, and it is directed by debutant J. S. Jithin. Others in the project include actors Al Ameen, Lukman, and Chandu Salimkumar in prominent roles. Phrases such as “Looping Soon!” and “One More Time” seen on the title reveal poster have sparked discussions online about the film’s genre, with many hinting that it could be a time-loop comedy that switches timelines each time someone “snaps” their fingers. 

Njodi is being produced by Amal Paulson under the banner of Sooper Dooper Films and Tony Jose under the banner of Midnight Sun Films. Sooper Dooper Films had previously made the superhits Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey and Falimy, both starring Basil Joseph. It is being distributed by Icon Cinemas, the banner that distributed Vaazha, Eko, and Vaazha 2. Interestingly, Hashir was last seen playing a cameo in Basil Joseph’s hit comedy Athiradi.

Hashir emerged out of Instagram Reels with his regular team, all of whom were seen in Vaazha 2. They were also a part of the first film in the series. The makers of Vaazha came out with an exciting update on April 14 and announced Vaazha 3, the next film in the popular Malayalam film series. Writer-producer Vipin Das made this announcement on Instagram.  “The Vaazha franchise has grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined. Thanks to all the love you have given us! We launched Vaazha with the intention of introducing fresh talent to cinema, and we are committed to carrying that legacy forward in all future chapters. This is the only franchise where the door is always open, whether you want to write, direct, act, or compose,” he wrote.

The upcoming film will be titled Vaazha 3 – Biopic of a Billion Girls. "While the title and the audience remain our constant pillars, the faces in front of and behind the camera will always represent the next generation of cinema. Like always, the directorial baton passes to Viswan Sreejith, who has been a vital part of my direction team. Production is set to begin by next year. We know it’s a long wait, but we promise to make it worth it!” Das wrote.
