Actor Ahaan Panday is setting his eyes on his next feature after the blockbuster success of Saiyaara. The actor has reportedly signed filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar's next, touted to be an action romantic drama produced by Yash Raj Films.

Panday became an overnight sensation after Mohit Suri's Saiyaara, in which he was paired opposite Aneet Padda. Panday will now lead the new film, which might start rolling in the first quarter of 2026.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, Zafar has been developing an action romance script with Aditya Chopra, who suggested the maker to cast Panday in his next directorial. The source said the young actor will be seen in the film, which is described as an amalgamation of "intense passion, romance, action, and hard-hitting drama."

"Adi and Ali will unlock a totally different side to Ahaan’s acting in this yet untitled film by putting him into a new world... The script is locked and the music-seatings have already begun," the publication quoted a source.

The yet untitled film will be the fifth collaboration between YRF and Zafar after Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Gunday, Sultan, and Tiger Zinda Hai. The filmmaker will be reuniting with YRF after mounting films outside the banner, which include Salman Khan's Bharat, Shahid Kapoor-starrer actioner Bloody Daddy, and Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff-led Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

Reports also state that Padda might also lead her next film, a Punjab-set romance, directed by Maneesh Sharma.

Saiyaara emerged as the highest-grossing love story in the history of Indian cinema. With a global gross of over ₹500 crore, the film scripted history and smashed all trade expectations, including surpassing the mighty actioner War 2 of the same banner. Led by Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, and also starring Kiara Advani, War 2 grossed over ₹400 crore at the worldwide box office.
