Aishwarya Rajinikanth Sets Next Directorial, Yuvan Shankar Raja to Compose Music

The upcoming film is planned as a multi-lingual release across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth's next film announced

A new directorial project helmed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth has officially entered development. The project is backed by producer Kannan Ravi under his KRG Productions banner, with Deepak Ravi serving as co-producer. The film is planned as a multi-lingual release across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music.

In a statement shared on social media, the production house said, “We are a production house that firmly believes cinema thrives on meaningful collaborations, as filmmaking is truly a collective art built on shared vision, passion, and trust. With immense pride and excitement, Kanna Ravi Groups is delighted to announce our collaboration with Ms Aishwarya Rajinikanth for KRG Group’s Production No 9.”

The makers further outlined the scale of the film. “This ambitious project is planned as a grand multi-lingual release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, reaching audiences across the nation. Conceived as a wholesome and sure-shot entertainer, the film promises to deliver a powerful and engaging cinematic experience for viewers of all backgrounds. We feel honoured to present this prestigious venture and look forward to creating something truly memorable for audiences everywhere.”

Kannan Ravi recently produced the Jiva-starrer Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil (2026). A political satire released in the Pongal window, the film has emerged as a major hit at the box-office.

Aishwarya Rajinikanth made her directorial debut with the psychological drama 3 (2012), starring Dhanush and Shruti Haasan. She followed it up with Vai Raja Vai (2015) and most recently directed Lal Salaam (2024), which featured an extended cameo appearance by her father, Rajinikanth. She also directed the documentary Cinema Veeran (2017), focusing on stunt performers in the Tamil film industry.

Additional details about her next project, including cast and technical crew, have not yet been revealed.
