The actor's team dismissed the rumours as baseless and untrue, clarifying that both Devgn and Raut are busy with separate professional commitments.
Actor Ajay Devgn has denied reports of reuniting with director Om Raut for a new film set in the 'unsung warrior' universe. Raut had directed Devgn in the 2020 hit Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, based on the exploits of Marathi military commander Tanaji Malusare. A recent report in Pinkvilla claimed the duo is reteaming to bring the story of another Indian warrior to screen.
In an official statement, a spokesperson for Ajay Devgn and Devgn Films said: “We have come across recent media reports suggesting that Ajay Devgn and Om Raut are reuniting for a film based on an unsung warrior. We would like to clarify that there are currently no such discussions or collaborations taking place with the director. The story is baseless and entirely untrue.”
The statement clarified that both Devgn and Raut are currently busy with separate professional commitments. “Both Ajay Devgn and Om Raut are presently working on their respective commitments,” it said.
“We request media platforms and social media handles to kindly verify information with us prior to publishing and to reach out for any official confirmation regarding Ajay Devgn and Devgn Films," the statement added.
Produced by Devgn and T-Series, the period action drama Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior was a major hit, becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2020 before the COVID-19-induced lockdowns. Devgn had earlier stated his intent to make more films in the 'warrior' universe. In January this year, the actor-producer, via his new AI company, announced Bal Tanhaji, an AI-powered origin story based on the formative years of Tanaji Malusare, tracing his transformation from a young boy to a legendary commander.
On the acting front, Devgn was last seen in the comedy sequels Son of Sardaar 2 and De De Pyaar De 2. His upcoming release is Drishyam 3 (Hindi) slated for October 2, 2026.
