After over three decades of shaping global music, A.R. Rahman is set to reinvent the concert-going experience. On May 3, the maestro will launch his most ambitious musical production yet — Wonderment: The Tour — with a grand premiere at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium.

Far from a typical stage show, Wonderment promises to be a genre-defying experience that fuses Rahman’s signature sound with immersive visuals, powerful storytelling and world-class choreography.

Developed in collaboration with Percept Live, Fair Game Entertainment and Jo Entertainment, the Mumbai show will kick off a worldwide tour, supported by the WAVES Summit, running May 1 to 4.

What sets Wonderment apart is its visionary blend of traditional Indian musical roots and futuristic concert technology. Audiences can expect surprise performances, international collaborations and on-stage reunions with Rahman’s most celebrated musical partners.

Confirmed performers include Sukhwinder Singh, Jonita Gandhi and Neeti Mohan, while Shiamak Davar returns to choreograph the live show — after working with Rahman on films like Taal and Kisna.

“Every note, every rhythm tells a story,” Rahman said in a statement. “I hope to merge tradition with innovation, bringing together the past and the future in a celebration of music.”

In recent years, Rahman has composed for films like Amar Singh Chamkila (2024), Maidaan (2024), The and Aadujeevitham: The Goat Life (2024), among others. Looking ahead, he's set to compose for several highly-anticipated projects, including Mani Ratnam's Thug Life (2025), starring Kamal Haasan, scheduled for release in June 2025 . Other upcoming films featuring his compositions are Peddi (2026) and Kamal Aur Meena (2026) . Additionally, Rahman is collaborating with Hans Zimmer on the ambitious two-part epic Ramayana, with the first instalment expected in 2026 .

With a set list spanning his most iconic hits and a production value that aims to raise the bar for Indian live shows, Wonderment is poised to become one of the most talked-about cultural events of the year.

Tickets are now available via District by Zomato.
