The first-look poster of Bachelor Party Deux, a sequel to the 2012 Malayalam cult film Bachelor Party, has been released. The stylish poster features the film's vast ensemble cast, led by Naslen, Kunchacko Boban, Soubin Shahir, Sharafudheen, Sreenath Bhasi, Chandhu Salimkumar as well as Tovino Thomas, Shine Tom Chacko, Paris Laxmi, Nadia Moidu, Rajisha Vijayan, Jyothirmayi, and Hansika Krishnakumar. The film, directed by Amal Neerad, will release worldwide on November 19.
Arriving 14 years after the first film, the poster emphasises the 'Gen-Z vibe' for the second instalment. 'Deux' is a French word that meaning 'two'. D'eux, meanwhile, translates to 'of them' or 'about them'.
Bachelor Party Deux is jointly produced under the banners of Amal Neerad Productions, Anwar Rasheed Entertainments, and Fahadh Faasil and Friends. Appu Prabhakar serves as the cinematographer, with Vivek Harshan as editor, Christo Xavier as music composer, Unni R as dialogue writer, Tapas Nayak as sound designer, Joseph Nellikkal as production designer, Rafeeq Ahamed and Vinayak Sasikumar as lyricists, and Mashar Hamsa as costume designer.
The original cast of the 2012 film included Asif Ali, Rahman, Prithviraj, Indrajith, Kalabhavan Mani and Vinayakan. The film, a black comedy, released with a lot of hype but was considered a commercial disappointment. In a later interview, director Amal Neerad said that although the film released to negative reviews and responses, it’s the first film that made him a lot of money. He was also the co-producer of the film.
Neerad had said, “Although I had made three films then (Big B, Sagar Alias Jackie and Anwar), I had not made much money. As a cinematographer in Bombay, I used to be highly paid. But turning director had made me poor. But I realised with Bachelor Party that there is a lot of money to be made if you produce, even with middling reviews.”
