Since October 28, social media has been abuzz with news of music director Shaan Rahman stepping out of Dileep’s upcoming mass entertainer Bha. Bha. Ba.
Not only did the Karam composer remove all posts promoting the film, but talk of another composer already joining the film’s works have started to flood social media. However, Shaan was mentioned as a composer even in a teaser video that was released two days ago. It’s also interesting to note that even this video saw multiple delays before it was put out, although one is unsure if Shaan Rahman’s decision about the movie had anything to do with it. An earlier teaser of the film had received mixed responses from audiences, especially for the background score that had been used.
On actor Dileep’s birthday, after multiple delays, a short glimpse short was released of his upcoming project Bha. Bha. Ba. and it ends with announcing December 18 as the release date. This glimpse also reiterates the madness of the film and the uniqueness of the plot it is trying to portray. This glimpse begins with images that remind one of Dilieep’s superhit film Runway.
Even the film’s teaser featured a line that linked Bha. Bha. Ba. with Runway. Apart from him, the film’s other central characters are being played by Vineeth Sreenivasan and Dhyan Sreenivasan, apart from a much-publicised cameo featuring Mohanlal.
Other actors include Sandy Master, Saranya Ponvannan, Ashokan, Balu Varghese, Baiju Santhosh and others. Bha Bha Ba is short for Bhayam, Bhakthi, Bahumanam, which means Fear, Devotion, Respect. It is being directed by Dhananjay Shankar, or DJ, in his directorial debut, and it’s being written by actors Fahim Safar and Noorin Shereef. Shaan Rahman has composed songs for films such as King of Kotha (2023) and Minnal Murali (2021), among other Malayalam films.
