A story of friendship, loyalty and greed unfolds in the trailer of Vijay Kanakamedala’s Bhairavam. Beginning with a verse from the Bhagavad Gita, the video goes on to show us the lives of three close friends (played by Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Manoj Manchu and Nara Rohith). Set against the backdrop of a sacred Varahi temple, the film tells a story of greed and how it affects the core relationship between three friends.
Produced by KK Radhamohan under Sri Sathya Sai Arts, the film has music by Sricharan Pakala. The film also co-stars Jayasudha, Aditi Shankar. Aanandi, Divya Pillai, and Vennela Kishore among others. The film is headed for a May 30 release.
Bhairavam is a remake of Soori’s well-received action film Garudan. Directed by RS Durai Senthilkumar, the 2024 film followed the life of Sokkan (Soori), who is torn between his loyalty to friends and influential village men Karuna (Unni Mukundan) and Aadhi (S Sasikumar), when an issue surrounding their temple deity springs up. The film also co-starred Sshivada, Roshini Hariypriyan, and Samuthirakani in key roles, and had music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. In an interview with a publication, Kanakamedala revealed that the remake will share Garudan’s soul, but will have a different presentation.
Garudan was the second film for Soori as a lead hero, who impressed audiences with his outing in Vetri Maaran’s Viduthalai series. He was last seen in Prasanth Pandiyaraj’s Maaman, a family drama co-starring Aishwarya Lekshmi and Rajkiran.
