'Bhoot Bangla' Teaser: Akshay Kumar–Priyadarshan Reunite for Horror-Comedy
The director–actor duo come together after 14 years with a film featuring an ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rajpal Yadav.
The teaser for Bhooth Bangla, the upcoming horror-comedy starring Akshay Kumar and directed by Priyadarshan, was released on Thursday, offering audiences the first glimpse into the film’s spooky yet comedic world. This project marks the reunion of the actor and filmmaker after a gap of 14 years. Their last collaboration was Khatta Meetha (2010).
Known for several popular and meme-worthy Hindi comedies in the past, the duo’s latest venture has already generated anticipation among fans of their earlier work. Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms, the film is positioned as a horror-comedy blending supernatural elements with the director’s signature slapstick style.
The teaser follows the release of the film’s first poster. The newly released footage leans more heavily into humour, featuring a series of quick gags, lively background music and glimpses of the ensemble cast navigating what appears to be a haunted house setting. While the horror elements remain largely under wraps, the teaser builds intrigue around the film’s central mystery.
Alongside Kumar, the film features an ensemble cast including Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav. Veteran comic actors Asrani and Rawal also appear briefly in the teaser, adding to the nostalgic appeal for audiences familiar with Priyadarshan’s earlier comedies.
The film is produced by Kumar alongside Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor, with production handled by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Kumar’s banner Cape of Good Films.
In Bhooth Bangla, Kumar's character appears to be a non-believer who gets entangled in the chaos of a haunted house. The teaser also introduces what the makers describe as a “spooky yet entertaining” universe. This film comes at the heels of the widespread popularity of the horror-comedy genre in the theatrical space.
More details of the films plot will be revealed in the coming weeks once the makers release a trailer.
Bhooth Bangla is scheduled to release in theatres on April 10, 2026.
