Inspired by the true events of the 1971 India-Pakistan War, the trailer features how India’s Army, Navy, and Air Force come together to fight as one. Border 2 also stars Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Sonam Bajwa and Anyaa Singh.
Mounted on a massive scale, the trailer opens with visuals from battalions charging to naval forces dominating the seas and fighter jets tearing through the skies, set to a powerful Deol dialogue of what it means to be a soldier.
The film is a sequel to the 1997 war epic Border, which was directed by JP Dutta. Set during the India–Pakistan war of 1971, the film was based on the events of the Battle of Longewala.
Backed by T-Series and JP Films, Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh, who had also helmed the critically acclaimed Punjab 1984 starring Dosanjh and then Akshay Kumar-led war drama Kesari.
Dutta, a veteran of war epics, is producing Border 2 with his daughter Nidhi Dutta alongside Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar of T-Series. Original composer Anu Malik is returning to compose the songs of the film. Border 2 is slated to hit the screens on January 22, 2026, ahead of the extended Republic Day weekend.
This will mark Deol's second franchise release after his 2023 release, Gadar 2, a sequel to his 2001 cult classic Gadar - Ek Prem Kath. Deol's comeback film was a huge smash at the box-office, collecting over ₹500 crore all-India.
