The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has mandated several modifications in Himesh Reshammiya’s upcoming film ‘Badass Ravi Kumar.’
Himesh Reshammiya’s latest film, Badass Ravi Kumar, is set to hit theaters on February 7, 2025. However, ahead of its release, the film has drawn attention due to the Central Board of Film Certification’s (CBFC) directive to implement edits.
According to reports, the CBFC’s Examining Committee recommended multiple alterations before granting certification. Scenes featuring brand names of alcoholic beverages and gestures involving the middle finger were ordered to be blurred. Additionally, modifications were instructed for several sensual sequences, particularly those featuring co-stars Sunny Leone and Kirti Kulhari. Additionally, the word ‘bitch’ was muted from the film’s audio and subtitles.
Apart from censoring intimate visuals, the CBFC also instructed the filmmakers to tone down the graphic violence. The movie, produced under Himesh Reshammiya’s banner Melodies, is helmed by director Keith Gomes and features Prabhudeva and Sanjay Mishra in key roles.
Despite the censorship directives, Badass Ravi Kumar has seen a promising response in advance ticket sales across India. By Wednesday morning at 9 AM, the film had already sold approximately 3,200 tickets in major multiplex chains. With advance bookings opening on Tuesday evening, the film managed to cross 3,000 ticket sales within 12 hours. If this trend continues, industry analysts predict an opening collection of approximately ₹5 crore, which would be an impressive feat for a Himesh Reshammiya-starrer.
