'Chatha Pacha' Gets An Intriguing Trailer; Is Mammootty Teased In The Video?
The big-budget action comedy stars Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, Siddique and a major star in a cameo
A week before its release on January 22nd, the makers of the Malayalam action comedy Chatha Pacha released an intriguing trailer, introducing us to the mad world in which the film is set. From the dialects, it appears that the film will be set in Kochi, in the backdrop of a wrestling league. We see Arjun Ashokan’s character discussing the idea of setting up a wrestling ring in Kochi with his friends as he consults with other people in his city. We also see Siddique’s character suggesting that he doesn't understand the concept the kids have come up with, only to reverse his opinion about their unique venture, once he visits the wrestling ring. The name of their wrestling league appears to be ‘Friday Fight Night’, bringing back memories of the golden age of the World Wrestling Federation and the nights of Monday Night RAW that made it popular among an entire generation. The 120-second trailer ends with “Walter” being introduced in what appears to be a stylish first look at a cameo, rumoured to be starring Mammootty.
The hype for the film has only been on the upswing since it was announced that it would get a worldwide release in as many as 100 screens around the world. The film, directed by first-time filmmaker Adhvaith Nair, is set against the background of wrestling and the fandom surrounding it. According to a report in Variety, this action drama, with the title Chatha Pacha: The Ring Of Rowdies, will reach a worldwide audience after the makers (Reel World Entertainment) signed a partnership distribution deal with The Plot Pictures.
Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies is being produced by Reel World Entertainment’s Shihan Shoukath, along with Ritesh and Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan. First-time filmmaker Adhvaith Nayar is directing it. Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, and Ishan Shoukath appear in the lead roles of this movie. The music is composed by the celebrated composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, making their much-awaited Malayalam cinema debut with the soundtrack. The technical team includes Anend C. Chandran as Director of Photography, Kalai Kingson handling action choreography, Vinayak Sasikumar penning lyrics, and Mujeeb Majeed composing the score. The screenplay is written by Sanoop Thykoodam, and Praveen Prabhakar handles the editing. The film is being distributed by some of the biggest banners in the country, including Dharma Productions in Hindi.
