Chiranjeevi and Kamal Haasan Get Special Honours At Telangana Gaddar Film Awards
Meanwhile, Naga Chaitanya and Rashmika Mandanna received the best leading actor and best leading actress awards for 'Thandel' and 'The Girlfriend'.
At the 2025 Telangana Gaddar Film Awards, South Indian stars Kamal Haasan and Chiranjeevi won special honours for their contribution to cinema. Chiranjeevi received the NTR National Film Award of the Telangana government, while Haasan grabbed the Paidi Jairaj Film Award for Indian film personality.
Jayasudha was the recipient of the Akkineni Nageswara Rao Film Award (female). The B N Reddy Film Award for a Telugu film director, which went to veteran director Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, was received on his behalf by Kamal Haasan.
As far as individual film awards went, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Rashmika Mandanna received the best leading actor and best leading actress awards, respectively, for Thandel and The Girlfriend.
In a post on X, Haasan thanked Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for the award. "I thank Hon’ble Chief Minister Revanth Reddy garu @revanth_anumula and Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka garu @Bhatti_Mallu, for resurrecting the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards and humbly accept the prestigious Paidi Jairaj Film Award. In reviving this institution, you have restored more than an honour, you have reaffirmed the vital role such platforms play in recognising artistic courage, cultural memory, and the people’s voice in cinema. My congratulations to all fellow awardees, and to the entire team for an excellently organised event. Long live cinema!" he wrote.
Chiranjeevi expressed his joy at receiving an award named after an actor as illustrious as NTR. "Receiving the ‘NTR National Award’ named after such a great man is a great honor in my life.My heartfelt thanks to the Government of Telangana, Hon’ble CM @revanth_anumula garu, Dy CM @Bhatti_Mallu garu, Hon’ble Ministers @KomatireddyKVR garu & @jupallyk_rao garu and the entire jury for this prestigious honour. #GaddarAwards2025," he wrote on X.
Kamal Haasan will next be seen in the sequel to Nag Ashwin's Telugu magnum opus Kalki 2898AD. Chiranjeevi was last seen in Anil Ravipudi's Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.
