The ambitious film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on Hanuman Jayanti in 2026.
Indian production house Abundantia Entertainment is joining forces with Collective Media Network’s Historyverse division to produce what is being described as India’s first AI-generated, theatrically positioned feature film. The ambitious project, titled Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal, will reimagine the story of Hindu deity Hanuman for a global audience. It is scheduled for a worldwide release on Hanuman Jayanti in 2026.
Drawing inspiration from the Ramayana and Puranic literature, the film aims to blend tradition with technology in what the producers call a “awe-inspiring, visual odyssey designed to be enjoyed as a shared theatrical experience.” A dedicated team of more than 50 engineers from Galleri5, the tech arm of Collective Artists Network, is developing the AI-driven production in collaboration with cultural scholars and literary experts to ensure authenticity.
Announcing the project on Instagram, Abundantia Entertainment and Collective Artists Network wrote on social media, “Proud and honoured to bring the timeless story of ‘Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal’, to theatres, in a first-of-its kind, ‘Made-In-AI’, ‘Made-In-India’ avatar. With deep reverence for our culture, heritage and history, we are set to release this innovative spectacle in theatres on Hanuman Jayanti 2026.”
The soundtrack will feature music by Trilok, the world’s first AI-powered band known for merging Indian spiritual traditions with modern soundscapes.
Vikram Malhotra, founder and CEO of Abundantia Entertainment, said the film continues the company’s legacy of championing Indian stories. “With innovation in our DNA, we constantly push boundaries of storytelling possibilities, and I am delighted that we are partnering with Vijay and his amazing team at Collective to harness cutting-edge tech and tools to tell one of India’s most iconic stories," Malhotra said.
Vijay Subramaniam, founder and group CEO of Collective Artists Network, added: “With this film, we have the extraordinary opportunity to reimagine cultural storytelling for an audience that cherishes both tradition and innovation. Our approach is rooted in authenticity and cultural stewardship, ensuring complete transparency about the role of AI in the creative process.”
The film is planned as a large-scale, multi-language release across major international markets.
