Just as how Anthony Perumbavoor was first to confirm the making of a third part to Drishyam, the producer of the successful franchise is now the first to assure viewers that there would be a fourth part to Drishyam.
Jeethu Joseph, writer-director of the franchise, was also present on stage during a recent event when Anthony made the announcement and Mohanlal, seated in the audience, was seen sharing his excitement about the future film. Anthony said, “Just like last time, I assure you that there will be a fourth film for the Drishyam franchise. I’m using this stage to make an official announcement.”
Drishyam 3, which released earlier this year, went on to become the highest-grossing film of the year in Malayalam. It is also among the most successful franchise in Malayalam movie history. Anthony recently produced Thudakkam, the launch vehicle of Vismaya, Mohanlal’s daughter. The film also featured Anthony’s son, Ashish, in a negative role. The film has been declared a hit, collecting over ₹20 crore at the box office.
As for Mohanlal, the star recently announced a series of new film projects on August 18, outlining a slate of seven films with some of Malayalam cinema's most prominent directors. With some films stipulated to begin production this year and a few expected to go on floors in 2027, the announcement confirms the superstar's newest outings, both with previous collaborators and new-generation filmmakers. His post on X announcing the slate read, "Exciting stories, exciting journeys and some very special filmmakers", going on to list the directors he will be working with. “Here’s a glimpse of my seven upcoming projects with: Vishnu Mohan, Anoop Sathyan, Priyadarshan, Dileesh Pothan, Sathyan Anthikad, Jude Anthany Joseph, Jeethu Joseph."
It remains to be seen if the film announced with Jeethu Joseph will eventually become the fourth film in the Drishyam franchise.
