Exclusive | Naga Chaitanya On 'Vrushakarma' And Playing A Treasure Hunter: 'I've Dreamt Of This'
The actor speaks to THR India about playing a treasure hunter in the upcoming Telugu spectacle.
Telugu star Naga Chaitanya will next be seen in Karthik Dandu's upcoming spectacle Vrushakarma. Ahead of its glimpse release later on March 5, Chaitanya shares his excitement with The Hollywood Reporter India. "I’m really excited that the glimpse of Vrushakarma will be out today. It’s a film I’m extremely excited about. As an actor, I’ve always dreamt of being part of a larger-than-life spectacle that revolves around a lot of VFX, and for me, Vrushakarma is that answer," he tells THR India in an exclusive interaction.
The actor goes on to detail his character, Arjun, from the upcoming film. "I play Arjun, a treasure hunter, which is a very unique characterisation that I haven’t attempted before, and I really enjoyed portraying it. The film also involves a lot of action-adventure sequences, so overall, Vrushakarma is a very fresh outing for me and something very new for the audiences as well," he says.
The upcoming Telugu film is jointly produced by BVSN Prasad and Sukumar under the banners Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra LLP and Sukumar Writings. Prominent Telugu filmmaker Sukumar is also credited with the screenplay. Touted to be a mythical thriller, the film features music by Ajaneesh Loknath, cinematography by Ragul Dharuman, production design by Sri Nagendra Tangala, and editing by Naveen Nooli. Early last year, the makers released a concept teaser, giving us glimpses of the making, production design, rehearsals, and CGI process of their film.
The first glimpse of the film will be launched at 12.12PM at Prasad Cinemas, Hyderabad today (March 5). "We open the world of #VRUSHAKARMA with a glimpse on March 5th, 2026 . @karthikdandu86 and team have put together something super exciting," the actor wrote on X in February. Vrushakarma will co-star Meenakshi Chaudhary, who will play the role of Daksha in this Telugu production.
