Superstar Salman Khan is in no mood to rest and is actively chasing scripts to make his grand comeback. THR India has learnt that the superstar, who was offered films from a variety of filmmakers since the release of Sikandar in March, may have finally zeroed in on his next: a project based on the Galwan Valley 2020 conflict, to be directed by filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia.

Sources have told THR India that Lakhia, known for films like Shootout at Lokhandwala, Mission Istaanbul, and Ram Charan's Hindi debut Zanjeer, is the frontrunner to direct the film.

According to an insider, Khan has shown active interest in the film, which will chronicle the Galwan Valley conflict, which broke out between Indian and Chinese troops in June 2020 in the Indian territory of Ladakh. At least 20 Indian soldiers were killed, with nearly 45 Chinese casualties. In September, for the first time in 45 years, shots were fired along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).

Sources say Khan had offers from his previous collaborators, Ali Abbas Zafar (Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Bharat) as well as his Bajrangi Bhaijaan helmer Kabir Khan. There was also another film offer by Pathaan director Siddharth Anand.
