When news broke out that Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan will be reuniting in Priyadarshan's Haiwaan after a 17-year break since Tashan (2008), their last film together, it generated major online buzz and anticipation around their next outing together.
On August 12, the makers of Haiwaan finally unveiled the teaser, giving audiences a deeper look into the dark, grim and mysterious nature of the film.
The 45-second teaser opens with a silhouette of Khan and a hazy silhouette of another man in the distance, and gives plenty of reasons to believe that the film will live up to its thriller-drama genre.
In the background we hear a melancholic melody playing which pushes this dark story forward and is intermittently interrupted by more defined sound effects such as footsteps approaching, a ball rolling on the floor and a clock ticking. The teaser ends with a vengeful laugh which furthers the film's eerie feel and hints at the onset of a truly villainous plot.
Alongside Kumar and Khan, Haiwaan also features a stellar ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Saiyami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar in pivotal roles.
Billed as a high-octane thriller, the film is produced under KVN Productions and Thespian Films by Venkat K. Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn.
Haiwaan is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on September 11.
