Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Irumudi details the relationship between a father and a daughter. Ravi Teja plays a middle-class family man who is devoted to his wife and daughter, but extends the same protective affection to every girl in his village. When any of them is harmed, his warmth gives way to uncontrollable aggression. His biggest weakness is his alcohol dependence, even as he transforms into a peaceful, disciplined man while wearing the Ayyappa mala every year. When a series of mysterious murders targeting young girls shakes the village, he must confront his own demons to put an end to the violence.

The film also features Priya Bhavani Shankar, Baby Nakshathra, Sai Kumar and Swasika in important roles, alongside Ajay Ghosh, Ramesh Indira, Meesala Lakshman, Rajkumar Kasireddy, Ramana Bhargav, Kishore Kancherapalem, Karthik Adusumalli, and Mahesh. It has music by GV Prakash Kumar and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers.

Irumudi is written and directed by Shiva Nirvana, whose previous directorial works include Kushi (2023), Tuck Jagadish (2021), and Majili (2019). The film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Music is composed by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography is by Vishnu Sarma and editing is by Prawin Pudi.

Teja's role is a notable departure from the characters he has played before. In Irumudi, he plays a devoted father who, determined to protect his daughter at any cost, resolves to leave behind his drinking habits by taking Ayyappa Deeksha. The spiritual journey unfolds from there, pulling audiences into a story that is as much about inner transformation as it is about family.

Teja was last seen in the Telugu films Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi (2026) and Mass Jathara (2025).
