Jr NTR Replaces Allu Arjun in Trivikram’s Upcoming Mythological Epic: Reports
Produced by Naga Vamsi, this will be Jr NTR's second collaboration with Trivikram Srinivas after their 2018 action drama 'Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava'.
Actor Jr NTR has reportedly come on board filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas' upcoming mythological epic, which was earlier being headlined by Allu Arjun. Jr NTR is said to play Lord Kumaraswamy in the film, which is produced by S Radha Krishna and Naga Vamsi.
Trade analyst Taran Adarash took to X to make the announcement, stating that the feature film will be mounted on a "grand scale". This will be Jr NTR's second collaboration with Srinivas after their 2018 action drama Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava.
"NTR is all set to embrace a powerful and divine new avatar in his upcoming film with director #TrivikramSrinivas. The mythological drama, being mounted on a grand scale by #HarikaHassineCreations, will feature #NTR as #LordKumaraSwamy," he added.
Vamsi also took to X and shared a series of Sanskrit shlokas referencing Lord Kumaraswamy, also known as Karthikeya, the God of war.
In an earlier interview, Vamsi had said that the untitled film would chronicle "unheard stories from mythology" and "surprise" the country with its scale.
"I'm not sure why the Telugu film industry stopped making mythological films. We are making a mythological film with Allu Arjun and Trivikram sir, and the whole of India will be surprised by its scale. Unlike the Ramayana and Mahabharata, we are making a film on unheard stories from mythology," Vamsi said during an interview with Galatta Plus.
Allu Arjun is currently gearing up for his sci-fi biggie with Atlee. The film, set to go on floors soon, also stars Deepika Padukone. The mega pan-India project will be Atlee's first film after his 2023 blockbuster Jawan, headlined by Shah Rukh Khan.
Jr NTR, meanwhile, is awaiting the release of his next, War 2. Co-starring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani, the latest installment of YRF's spy universe will release in August and have a box office clash with Rajinikanth-led Coolie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film also stars Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR and Monisha Blessy.
